TA series

Bonfiglioli’s TA series of torque arm reducers has long set the standard for reliability and affordability in heavy industrial settings, such as quarrying and mining.  With little requirement for maintenance, the TA is also favoured where downtime must be kept to a minimum.

TA Options

An easily-mounted backstop option extends the usability of the TA series, preventing backdriving in the case of incline conveyors.

Units are factory-filled with synthetic lubricant.

Viton oil seals are an option.

WEG’s W22 mining motor range starts at 0.18kW (63 frame) and extends to 355kW (355 frame), in 240/415V in 63 to 100 frame and 415V 112 to 355 frame.  Voltages up to 1100V are available on request.

The WEG range of mining motor comes standard in 2, 4, 6 and 8 pole, with 10 and 12 pole options.

Due to their torsional flexibility N-EUPEX couplings offer the possibility of moving critical torsional vibrations from the operating area of the mechanical equipment in such a way that no negative effects on the drive train are to be expected.  N-EUPEX couplings are made of high-quality cast iron.  The flexible elements made of synthetic rubber (buna N) are available in different degrees of hardness for many applications.  Metal pins and flexible elements are so designed that no wear occurs when properly fitted.

N-Eupex Applications

Widely used in the whole field of mechanical engineering, as high-speed coupling on the motor side (e. g. pump, fan or compressor drives) as well as high-torque couplings for the connection of gear unit and driven machine (e. g. mills).

N-Eupex Advantages

  • Coupling to be used universally for compensating shaft misalignments
  • Maximum operational reliability, since fail-safe

With the F1 back in town this weekend showcasing the pinnacle of automotive technology, we can cast our minds back 30 years to an innovation from the Williams team that was banned because it was too fast.

Williams CVT

The Williams FW15 was already dominant in 1993, with a highly technical car and fully-active suspension. Not content to rest on their successes, the team designed and built a version of their Renault-powered machine with a constantly variable transmission (CVT) that kept motor power and torque at their peak.

The CVT version of the FW15 was around two seconds per lap faster than the standard transmission version.

Reeves CVT

Our Reeves mechanical variators employ the very technology that was banned in Formula One.
