As a proud partner and distributor, we stock Bonfiglioli’s full range of VF and W series worm gearboxes in all of our branches. The W range is modular, which enables us to attach motor flanges, output flanges and output shafts from stock.
Bonfiglioli’s range of wormboxes is the workhorse seen behind many applications, but are especially prevalent in mixing and conveying roles, where their standard output shaft sizes make them extremely adaptable.
The VF series (VF27, VF30, VF44 and VF49) comes standard with a B14 motor flange attached, allowing overall dimensions to be kept small. This is especially useful in applications where conveyors need to be fitted close to walls, or there are other space restrictions that preclude the larger B5 flange that is standard from other manufacturers.

May 14 – 17, 2019 marked the 20th edition of National Manufacturing Week, with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre playing host to over 11,000 visitors for the four days. More than 200 businesses took the opportunity to be in front of the varied audience.
Industrial Evolution and Advanced Manufacturing were the main focus points for the event this year, with Automation and Robotics, Industrial Internet of Things, and Engineering Zones all having equal representation.
The mechanical power transmission industry was under-represented, with minimal presence from local suppliers and only a token showing from internationals trying to get a foothold distributorship into Australia. This has been the trend over recents NMWs, with most major gearing players tending to spend the exhibition money at events such as AIMEX and specialised industry conventions.
April 2019 saw a solid increase to the key leading indicator of Australia’s manufacturing sector, the Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) from Australian Industry Group.
Australian manufacturing rose to 54.8 points (50 is breakeven) in April, continuing the run of unbroken positive results since August 2016. The food and beverage sector lead the charge, reporting higher-than-usual seasonal demand.
This result is even more positive, considering that the Australian federal election has been called and was known about throughout the month.
Machinery and equipment, and metals products, were the only two sectors to experience negative growth for the month, and were also the only two sectors to record a negative change in April. Machinery and equipment contributes $19.3B to the Australian economy, yet has been flat for a few months in a row, with the trend now the worst since September 2015.
