All Torque Transmissions’ range of stainless steel electric motors is now available.

Electric Motors FPSS series

Known as the FPSS series, our range of stainless steel motors are designed with the food industry in mind. They form part of our continuous search for motor options to improve this moisture and bacteria-sensitive industry. We have managed to create a product that can be used under the most common and demanding operating conditions. Like our drives, the design is smooth and round, and special attention was paid to the shape of terminal boxes and bearing covers to keep dirt accumulation to a minimum.

Characteristic features are:

Completely smooth and round housing in polished 304 stainless steel. No coatings to flake off

Easy-clean, round, well-sealed terminal box

All mounting surfaces fitted with O-rings

Locknuts with caps, spacers and O-rings

Model designation stamped on the housing so no dirt build-up on the model plate

IE2, IP66, ISO F as standard

Optional special aerators for extreme conditions achieve IP69K

PTC relays standard

Available with flange (B5, B14a) or feet (B3)

Available in 7 sizes (IEC63 to IEC132)

Sizes 63, 71 and 80 available with special shaft/flange combination for mounting on SEW drives

Some 800 models available from stock

Designs for IEC 90 TENV (IC410) housing (TENV without heatsink)

Designs for IEC90 TEFC (IC411) and larger housings (TEFC with heatsink)

FPSS Features

Special pressure anti condensation debreather

The FPSS series is fitted with an in-house special pressure anti condensation debreather. This debreather is used to reduce the pressure difference between the warm air inside the motor and the cold air outside the motor.

When the motor is used it heats up. When shut down and cleaned with cold water the motor cools down too fast and creates internal pressure. This results in the suction of “wet” air from outside the motor, which can cause damage to the bearings and windings.

With our debreather, this problem of pressure difference is reduced, because inside our debreather is a special membrane which only lets air through and no water.

All of our stainless steel motors are equipped with one of these debreathers.
