The Dodge UltraKleen range of stainless steel reduction gearboxes has been around for a while now, solving problems in various applications requiring a hardy construction and the ultimate in washdown protection. In Australia, UltraKleens have been utilised extensively in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food processing industries, where aluminium or cast iron gearboxes are unable to withstand the inherent corrosive environmental properties.
All Torque has been specifiying UltraKleen gearboxes both in a new design capacity as well as a problem-solver. Our experience is that the main issues to contend with are the imperial dimensions of the units and the requirement for NEMA motors. In most cases, we have supplied Baldor’s stainless steel NEMA motors in the same application, which negates this issue.
Every feature of the design of the UltraKleen range goes towards increased capacity and operation life: Housings are made out of 316 stainless steel, all seals are of heavy-duty two-piece construction, and gearboxes are ‘sealed for life’ with USDA H1 food grade Klubersynth UH1-6-460.
