Dodge has announced the introduction of a new range of disc couplings, aimed specifically at pumping applications for the oil and gas sector. Known simply as the Dodge Disc Coupling, the new series utilizes the newest generation of disc geometry, which minimizes end disc stress, and produces the highest misalignment and torque capability of any disc coupling available.
The Dodge Disc Coupling does not have relative movement between mating surfaces, and therefore, does not require lubrication. This makes it the perfect solution where pumping applications that still require coupling lubrication are proving troublesome, especially in high speed and high torque environments. With industry-leading misalignment capabilities and torque ratings to match, overall coupling life is extended.
All Torque Transmissions supplies the full range of Dodge Disc Couplings, with stock coming direct from the US to order. For a brief product overview, download the appropriate catalogue here BR4015.
An elevator pitch is supposedly a 15-second short story that a person tells about themself and what they do, normally when they meet a person for the first time. It is meant to be succint, but also to give the most information possible in a short time. Last week, one of our salespeople met someone in a lift and was asked “So, what does All Torque do?”
Our intrepid salesperson told the asker about all of our products, reeling off the fact that All Torque is the distributor of Bonfiglioli, WEG, Baldor and manufacturer of Reeves Motodrives, before finally ending up at our specialty in industrial mechanical power transmission. It took more than a minute, and it left the questioner a little sorry that he asked!
We had a bit of think about exactly what it is that All Torque Transmissions does, and it’s not easy to describe in 15 seconds. It is more than simply the products that we supply. It is also more than over 200 years of combined industry knowledge and experience. It was only when the original asker of the question in the lift called us up to give us his insight into what All Torque was all about did the penny drop… He said “If it is in factory, and it moves, All Torque Transmissions is responsible”.
So there you have it. 13 words that say it all.
With a strong history in mechanical belt variators, we get many enquiries for variable speed belts from across the country. In order to speed up the identification process, it is always best to have the following information ready…
What is the Outside Circumference?
What is the Top Width?
What is the Included Angle?
What is the Thickness?
From these parameters, we are able to determine the size. Different belt manufacturers refer to different lengths for their sizing, being either inside length, outside length or pitch length, but we know what the differences are.
Obviously, the best way to identify a variable speed belt is by looking at the numbers written on it, but we are well aware that they don’t last long in operation.
As part of All Torque Transmissions’ alliance with Bonfiglioli comes our distributorship of Tecnoingranaggi planetary gear units. Tecnoingranaggi specialises in high-precision units, and uses the latest in automated manufacturing techniques to maintain quality standards.
The entire Tecnoingranaggi manufacturing facility conforms to ISO 9001:2000 standards, covering:
Tecnoingranaggi’s standard range of LC and MP low-backlash planetary gearheads from the basis of the company’s continual product development, coming up with extended applications of existing technology and also developing prototypes for new product design requirements.
The Tecnoingranaggi range is available on short turnaround times from the Bologna factory, which we then airfreight with minimal delay straight to Australia.
Whenever we supply a WEG electric motor and variable speed drive combination for a matched application, it is important to take into account the fact that WEG offer an increased warranty of two years (up from the standard one year) on each item. This increase only serves to show how confident WEG are in supporting their product range, and it gives us at All Torque confidence whenever we quote one of their matched drive packages in either a new or replacement application.
WEG’s confidence in its own product range comes from the knowledge that it has near-perfect vertical integration, handling the entire production process in-house. WEG owns its own foundries and die-casting plants, does its own wire drawing, enamelling, coating, resins, automated machining and final assembly. WEG’s R&D and testing facilities are also state-of-the-art and lead world’s best practice.
The next time you’re involved in designing an electric motor drive package or looking at replacing older equipment with something with MEPS-rated efficiency, make sure you factor in the increased warranty that WEG offers and give us at All Torque Transmissions a call. We’ll have it in stock.
