April 13 – 17, 2015 sees Hannover, Germany play host once again to the worlds largest power transmission trade fair. Hannover Messe 2015 will feature five distinct categories:
1. Industrial automation and IT
2. Energy and environmental technologies
3. Power transmission and control
4. Industrial supply, production engineering and services
5. Research and development
The Power transmission and control category is otherwise known as MDA – Motion, Drive & Automation. Recent MDA events have seen the release of Lenze’s Smart Motor, ABB’s world first IE4 motors and standout keynotes on Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes, Solutions for high speed applications, Automation technology, Condition Monitoring Systems, Total Cost of Ownership, Lifecycle Cost and Return on Investment.

- Fluid power (hydraulics, pneumatics, seals and filtration systems) (Halls 19, 20, 21, 23)
- Roller bearing and ball bearing systems (Halls 22, 24)
- Mechanical power transmission, clutches, gears and components (Halls 24, 25)
- Electric power transmission (Halls 14–17)
- Power transmission and applications for wind energy (Halls 25, 27)
The number of exhibitors is down from 2013 (1043 this time around compared to over 1300 in 2013) although space is still at a premium and competition amongst exhibitors is high.
